He consulted some of the most prominent physicians, but all to no effect, their skill became exhausted without giving him any relief. His suffering was in the extreme, yet borne with such patience and fortitude that only those who were with him constantly could realize how great it was. Daniel Lee was born at the old homestead, this township, on January 25, 1881, and was at the time of his death 27 years and 19 days of age. His parents, one brother, John, and three sisters, Winnie, Mary and Bridget, survive him. Mr. Lee was a favorite with old and young and his death has brought sorrow to many outside of his home circle, where he has left a gap that can never be filled; and among his acquaintances his sunny smiles will be missed. He was an officer of the Board of Supervisors of the Town of Washington Lake, serving in the capacity of chairman. The funeral services took place from the St. Brendon’s Catholic church of this place, on Sunday forenoon at 10 o’clock, Rev. Fr. Ryan, officiating, gave a very impressive sermon. The remains were laid to rest in the parish cemetery in the presence of a large number of people who assembled from far and near to pay the last tribute to one whom in life they loved and respected. The pallbearers were Patrick Brazil, John Ryan, Michael Mulligan, Michael Davitt, Patrick Mack, and Michael Brazil. The heartfelt sympathy of the many friends of the family and the young man is poured out to them in their lamentable and irreparable loss. - Green Isle Record.
