The home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer in this village was cast into gloom and the entire community saddened at the news of the death of Mrs. Meyer, which occurred yesterday morning at 9:30 o’clock a.m. She has been ill for several months and at times her life was despaired of, but each time she rallied and hopes were for her recovery. The end came at last as a result of an operation which she underwent some weeks ago. She was born March 2nd 1870 and lived with her parents Mr. and Mrs. August Selley, Sr., in New Auburn township until seven years ago, when she was united in marriage to Albert Meyer. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two children, one son and one daughter, also her father, who is living with his daughter, Mrs. Fisher of Minneapolis, three sisters and one brother. The latter is Aug. Selley, Jr., of Kelso, whild the sisters are Mrs. Fisher of Minneapolis, Mrs. Henry Voight of Green Isle township and Mrs. Isaacson of Bernadotte. The funeral will be held from the residence Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. The body will be interred in the Lutheran cemetery and Rev. Heidmann will perform the last sad rites. [Ed. Note: tombstone provides her name: Caroline Meyer] Arlington Enterprise Thursday 12 January 1905 LAID TO THEIR LAST RESTING PLACES The funeral of John Schade was held last Thursday. Mrs. Albert Meyer buried last Friday. The eternal remains of Mrs. Albert Meyer of whose death we made mention last week, were interred in the West Arlington Lutheran cemetery last Friday afternoon. The funeral services were held at the house at 2 o’clock p.m., Rev. Heidmann delivering a very imprestive sermon. The body was afterwards taken to the cemetery for interment followed by a large concourse of neighbors and friends of the deceased who paid a last tribute to her memory. Those present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fisher of Minneapolis; Mrs. Isaacson of Bernadette; Aug. Selle of Kelso; Ed and Reinhold Milbrandt and Henry Voight of Green Isle township. The following were pall bearers: I. Riedler, Chas. Mueller, Frank Follrath, V. F. Schmoll, Wm. Meisner, Fred Spannaus. [Ed. Note: tombstone provides her name: Caroline Meyer]
