She was a sufferer from rheumatic attacks, and this dreadful disease, about fourteen years ago, took such a hold on her that she could not leave the house, and for the past five years was confined to her bed. her suffering was a long and painful one and she needed constant care, which was given to her as well as human will and knowledge can do it, by her aged husband and son Herman and wife, with whom she had made her home. Although she seemed to fail the past week, her departure on Sunday morning, came somewhat unexpected. Deceased’s maiden name was Louisa Wolter, and she was born Nov. 22, 1832, in Pommern, Germany. There she was married to John Tuchtenhagen, and this union was blessed with six children, two sons and four daughters. The family came to this county in the early days and settled down in the township of Green Isle. Here all the hardships of pioneer life were experienced by the young people and were increased when death took away the husband and left the deceased a widow with six small children. In 1868 she was married to Fred Moskop and bore him four children, 3 sons and 1 daughter. Peacefully she slumbered into another and, as we truly hope, a better life, where there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, nor shall there be any more pain. She leaves a husband, ten children, 58 grand children and 42 great-grand children. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock, Rev. Heidmann officiating. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 16 November 1911 The funeral of Mrs. Fred Moskop, whose death we reported last week, took place Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 1 P.M. from the residence of her son H.
