Mueller, occurred Sunday at a St. Louis hospital. Was on his way home. DEATH CAUSED BY LUNG TROUBLE. He was a son of Aug. Mueller and had spent most of his life in this neighborhood. The sad news reached here Sunday that Julius E. Mueller, a former highly respected and well known citizen of this place, had answered death’s call. He left Texas which has been his home for almost three years past, and was on his way to return to his home here when, at St. Louis, his condition became so serious that it was found necessary to take him to the Centenary hospital where he died Sunday at 3:40 o’clock p.m. For the past four years he has been ailing with lung trouble and in October 1901 in hopes of gaining his health, he decided to change his location and move to a warm climate, and left on the seventh of that month, for Fort Worth, Texas, which was his home until last December when he moved to San Antonio, Texas. He had been the time he was in Texas, salesman and collector for the J. F. Case Implement Co. While he was in Texas he was at times in fairly good health but he never regained his former health and some months ago his condition became very serious when asthma also set in which ultimately hasened [sic.] his untimely demise. He was just in the prime of life, being only somewhat over 29 years of age, and it is indeed a sad blow to his loving wife and son and other relatives that he should be taken from them so early in life. He was an exemplary young man, a true friend, an honest and upright business man, a loving husband and father. All who knew him speak of him with the utmost respect. The deceased was a son of August Mueller and was born on the farm in Arlington township on July 1st, 1874, being at the time of this death, 29 years, 10 months and 28 days old. On October 7th, 1898 he was united in marriage to Tillie Weckworth and later went into partnership with his brother, Chas. in the hardware business at this place in which business he was engaged up to the time of his leaving for Texas, which he was compelled to do owing to his poor health. His mother died July 21, 1890, so he leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and little son, his father and four brothers, Chas., Martin, Otto and William. His body was brought to this place Tuesday and a large number of friends who were at the depot to witness the return of his remains, shows the high regard and esteem in which he was held by our people. His wife and son, and his brother, Otto, returned with the body. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 1 o’clock from the residence and his remains will be interred in the village cemetery, Rev. Reuter of the Green Isle township church will perform the services which will be held in the church of this place. The bereaved relatives have the sincerest sympathy of all in their sad bereavement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
