Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske Sibley County Enterprise Thursday 13 August 1891 OBITUARY In this village, on Friday morning August 7th, after a lingering illness, Frederick Neiland, age 34 years. The deceased had resided in the county nearly all his life and had a fine farm west of this village. About six years ago he was taken down with infalmatory rhuematism and confined to the house. After doctoring for two or three years without relief, he was advised to remove to St. Peter, where he could be treated by Dr. Daniels, and following that advice he removed there nearly three years ago. At times he felt some improvement, but was never able at any time to move around much without assistance. Last May he was attacked by a paraletic stroke, which rendered him helpless and left him speechless. The doctors then gave up all hopes of his recovery and his family had him removed to this village last month. During his long illness he was a great sufferer, which he bore with christian fortitude and without a murmer of complaint. His wife was his constant companion during all his suffering and no more loving and tender care was ever bestowed upon a sick husband than was bestowed in this case. Mr. Nieland was a generous and enterprising citizen -- a kind and true friend, and as such he will be missed in this community where he had spent all his life. As a husband and father he was loving and tender and was the sunshine of his home. The sorrow stricken family, consisting of a widow and two small children, have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. The funeral was held at the Lutheran cemetery in this village last Sunday morning, and was very largely attended. - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
