She had not been ill, and the family had no premonition that she was troubled with the disease. She is survived by her husband and six children. Mrs. Niemann’s mother who lives in this village, Fred Schulenberg and his sisters left for there via Gibbon, to attend the funeral which took place yesterday afternoon from the German Lutheran church there, of which deceased was a member. Owing to the relatives being away from town, we were unable to give full particulars, but will endeavor to do so next week. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 17 August 1911 The following in relation to the death of Mrs. Niemann is from the Gibbon Gazette: Mrs. Niemann, nee Emilie Bethke, was born in the province of West Preusen, Germany, May 11, 1864. When 24 years of age she came to this country and staid for a while with an uncle in Brownton. In 1888 she was married in Green Isle township to Fred Niemann. She was the mother of twelve children, six of who are living, the youngest only three years old. Besides her husband and children, she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Charles Doerr of Round Grove, Miss Bertha Bethke of New Ulm, and Miss Mollie Bethke of Gibbon; also a brother, Fred Bethke of Round Grove. The following attended the funeral: Miss Annie Niemann, Herman and Fred Schulenberg, Mrs. I. Riedler and Mrs. F. Spannaus of Arlington. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
