Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske --------------------------------------------------------------------- Arlington Enterprise Thursday 1 January 1903 CHRIS OBERNOLTE DEAD At his home in Denver, Colorado, Christ Obernolte, formerly of this county, died on Saturday, Dec. 27, 1902, from chronic rheumatism and old age combined. Mr. Obernolte was 77 years old at the time of his death. He was born in Germany and came to this country when 29 years of age. He settled first in Illinois, but later came to this county where he lived practically all the time until two years ago when with his wife and an unmarried daughter he went to Denver, Colorado, to reside. Deceased was a man of sterling character and was well beloved by all who knew him. He is survived and mourned by a wife, three sons and two daughters, viz., Edward of this village; Henry living near Gaylord, William of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Fred Ostermann of Henderson township and Miss Lydia, who reside with her mother at Denver. Besides these he is survived by two brothers and a sister. The remains were brought here for burial, arriving Monday evening, accompanied by William Obernolte of Denver. Interment took place yesterday at noon in the Ebenezer cemetery, three and a half miles south of town, Rev. Rabe of the German M. E. church officiating.
