He was taken ill and gradually grew worse, until the veiled angel took him by the hand and led him to the place where happiness cannot be surpassed. Warren Obernolte was born in this county in April, 1902, and was 4 years, 11 months and 24 days old at the time of his death. The funeral was held here Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church and the remains were interred in the cemetery east of town, Rev. G. A. Rabe presiding at the last sad rites. Mr. and Mrs. Aug. G. Obernolte - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 4 April 1907 DIED --- Warren Stanwood [sic.], beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. G. Obernolte, on March 24th, 1907, of heart failure, of which mention was made in last week’s issue. He was born April 1st at Henderson, Sibley Co, Minn. Although physically weak and feeble, he had a wonderful mind, upon which all those who met and knew him commented, for he would converse intelligently upon any subject which came under his observation. He was especially fond of music and singing. He was a delight to his parents and friends to have him stand by the side of his mother, who would accompany him with the piano, and he would sing many long and sweet songs as perfect as anyone more than double his age. Among his favorite songs were "Glory for Me;" this song the choir sang at the house, in his memory, at the opening of the services; another one that he especially delighted to sing the last few weeks was, "Mamma when I go to heaven will the angels let me play." He died very suddenly, which was a severe shock to his mother, who happened to be all alone with him at the time, for Mr. Obernolte had left the day before to take treatment at the sulpher spring. He had fairly reached there when the sad news was ‘phoned to him. The funeral took place on Tuesday the 26th, Rev. Eyrch officiating at the house at 9 a.m., after which the remains were taken to the home of L. F. Breitkreutz of Arlington. At 2 p.m. the remains were taken to the German M. E. church where the funeral services were held, Rev. G. A. Rabe officiating. From the church the remains were taken to the Arlington Cemetery, where he was buried by the side of his grandmother, Mrs. Sophie Obernolte, who died two months ago. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
