Deceased breathed her last at 12 o’clock noon in the presence of her husband and kind friends. Her husband and son were constantly at her bedside and cheerfully administered to the wants of the patient sufferer until the final end. Deceased was a devote member of St. Mary’s Catholic church of this village, a true christian, a kind mother and good neighbor and will be greatly missed by her husband, son, relatives and friends. At 8:30 o’clock Tuesday morning mass was held over the remains in the church of which the deceased was a faithful member and from there they were taken to New Ulm on the 10:32 train and there laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery with her two sons who preceded her to that far off land from whence no mortal returns, Father Rant of this parish officiated. There were also two sons and a daughter who are buried at Ree Heights, S.D. Mrs. John O’Brien, nee Katherine McCarthy, was born in County Cork, Ireland, May 5th, 1850, and was therefore 62 years, 8 months and 15 days of age. She came to this country with her parents, settling at Troy, N.Y., and where she was married. This union was blessed by six children, all boys, and all dead except Jerry. The family later moved to New Ulm remaining there about two years and in 1880 went to South Dakota, remaining there until 1909 when they moved here. The pall bearers were: Michael and William O’Brien, Bartley Hunt, Michael Wetsen, Silvester Early and Arthur Furhmann. The Enterprise with a host of friends extend sympathy to the bereaved husband and son. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CARD OF THANKS We most sincerely wish to thank the many friends, neighbors and relatives who so willingly assisted us during the illness, death and burial of our dear wife and mother.
