Deceased was born in Pakolitz, Province Posen, Germany, April 4, 1841. He remained at home until he attained his majority, then served in the army of his native country, and in 1866 emigrated to America, settling at Minneapolis, where he resided two years, and then located at Mountville, this county in 1868, and has resided there ever since. He was married three times: In 1699 [sic.] to Bertha Polzin, and 2 sons Henry and August, were born to them. His first wife died in 1872, and a year later he espoused Amelia Pomplun of Arlington township. Seven children were the fruits of this union, but they all died in their infancy or youth. In 1882, he was married for the third time to Augusta Glander. Seven children were the results of this union, five of whom are living. He leaves a widow, 6 sons and 1 daughter, 1 brother and 2 sisters and 5 grandchildren. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, from the Mountville church of which deceased had been a member ever since he came to the county, and was very largely attended. Rev. Prigge conducted the services. Locals: The late Julius Redmann had erected a fine home this summer, but he was destined never to occupy it, as he passed away before it was completed. Theo Schumm of this place furnished the cement blocks, and we are told it is one of the finest homes in that section. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 26 October 1911 We were in error last week in stating that Julius Redmann’s second wife was Amelia Pomplun. It was Amalia. Emilia Pomplun is married to Chas. Schafer and still living in the state of Washington. The similarity of the name accounts for the error. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
