The deceased, her maiden name being Louise Engel, was born on the first of uJne [sic.] in the year 1828 in Reinsdorf, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. She was married to Karl Reinke and came to this country in 1873, settling in Le Sueur county. Of her eight children only two survive to be a support to the mother in her last years, the others dying before her, four of them being taken in one day, when a piphtheria [sic.] epidemic raged in that neighborhood. About twenty years ago her husband died also, and she spent the years of her widowhood with her son John with whom she moved in 1902 to this county. Years ago a weakness of the heart set in which ailment finally caused her death. She was laid to rest on the Lutheran cemetery and funeral services were held in St. Paul’s church of which she was a faithful member. With her demise a good mother is gone to her heavenly reward.
