The young man had been ill for the past two weeks with a complication of pneumonia and pleurisy. Rev. Reuter visited his son Saturday and found him improving, but a relapse set in Monday and his parents hastened to St. Paul but arrived too late to be with him when he expired. Gerhardt was 17 years old and was a student at Concordia College, which institution he attended for the past four years. The funeral will be Friday afternoon. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the grief stricken family.
