Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske --------------------------------------------------------------------- Arlington Enterprise Thursday 18 December 1913 DEATHS Mrs. Henrietta Scharping A. W. Scharping received a telegram from his brother August dated Wabamum Alberta, Canada, Dec. 16, 2 A.M., stating that his mother had died there. As the message was received at 3 P.M., Tuesday it is thought she died the previous night. No cause was given, but as she was known to be afflicted with heard disease, it is surmised that was the cause of her sudden and unexpected demise. Mr. Scharping sent orders to have the remains shipped her for burial, but it is not know when they will arrive. Deceased, whose maiden name was Henrietta Fiebelkorn, was born in 1845 in Zackerzavo, Kries Flaton, West Preusen, Germany, and reached the age of 68 years, 7 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage with Gottfried Scharping in 1865, and in 1866 came with him to America, settling in Sibley county. Her husband passed away 27 years ago and a year later the family moved to the village of Arlington, where she resided until June 2, 1911, when she left for Stanley, N.D., to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. F. J. Papke. At the time of her death she was visiting her sons Herman and August in Canada. She was the mother of 11 children, eight of whom, 5 sons and three daughters, survive her. She also leaves 21 grandchildren. The surviving children are: Mrs. Aug. Wegner, Mrs. J. W. Narr, H. C. Scharping, Mrs. F. J. Papke, A. A. Scharping, A. W. Scharping, F. H. Scharping, and Karl E. Scharping.
