Mrs. John Schmidt, who suffered a stroke of paralysis Saturday evening, passed away at her home west of town Monday evening at nine o’clock without having recovered consciousness. She had a previous stroke about a year and a half ago, but apparently recovered from its effects. The funeral will take place this (Thursday) afternoon at one o’clock from the house. Maria Sophia Magdelina Schmidt was born Sept. 17, 1850, in Darve, Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany, and came to America in 1875, settling in Scott county, where the family resided until they came to Arlington eleven years ago. She is survived by a husband and four children, two sons and two daughters, who have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
