Mrs. Julius Schwartz, a very highly respected lady of this vicinity, has answered her last summons and gone to the great beyond. She died at her home in Green Isle township at one o’clock Saturday morning, July 9th, death resulting from a cancer of the stomach. She was taken sick March 26th, 1904 with stomach catarrh which later developed into cancer of the stomach which hastened her death. She was somewhat over 63 years of age, having been born December, 21st, 1840 at Witten bei Vandsburg, West Preussen, Germany. Her maiden name was Eva Link, and in 1864 she was united in marriage to John Jahr. Together they came to this country in 1868 and in 1876 occurred the death of Mr. Jahr. Seven children resulted from this union and all are living. On January 12th, 1877 she was married to the husband, who now survives her, and to them four children were born, all of whom are living. She was a true and kind friend, a devout christian and a good mother. All who knew her speak very highly of her many excellent traits of character and she will be mourned by a large host of friends. The burial took place from the house Monday at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, and the body was interred in the Green Isle township Lutheran cemetery, Rev. Karl Reuter officiating. The funeral was largely attended showing the high esteem in which she was held. The sorrowing husband and relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in their sad bereavement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many kind friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the illness and burial of our beloved wife and mother.
