Mrs. Louisa Steffer, who left last Wednesday for Spokane, Washington having received word that her daughter, Bertha, was dangerously ill, arrived there Friday morning, only to find her on the brink of death. She was unconscious at this time and passed away in the afternoon of that day. An operation performed a few days before had hastened her death. The deceased was born in this township April 11th, 1877 and had lived here all her life until about four years ago when she went to Washington, where she has been a nurse in a hospital. Her last visit home was about two years ago. The burial took place at Spokane Sunday, Rev. Hartung delivering the funeral sermon. She had many friends here who will mourn her loss and join us in extending sympathies to the bereaved relatives. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
