Stock Called to Rest The Angel of Death came to the aid of Mrs. Ferdinand Stock of this village last Thursday at 11:30 A.M., and relieved her of her sufferings after being confined to her bed since last December. She was afflicted with a nervous ailment which coupled with bronchial trouble, caused her death at the age of 70 years and 20 days. Wilhelmine Ahrens was born Jan. 22, 1850, at Fischbeck in Germany and came to this country in the spring of 1881, settling in the state of Illinois. In the same year she was married to Ferdinand Stock. They moved to Minnesota in the fall of the same year and took up their residence in Sibley County living here continuously, with the exception of a year spent near Buffalo Lake. Their marriage was blessed with five children, two of which died in infancy. In 1891 the family moved to the farm in Dryden which was the family homestead all these years. About four ago they came to Arlington to reside but she was not to enjoy the well earned rest very long. Especially since last fall a nervous ailment gave her many a troublesome hour and during the winter her suffering became more acute, death coming to her as a relief. Mrs. Stock was a devout Christian and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. She was also a loving wife and mother and a good neighbor. She is survived by her aged husband, a daughter, Mrs. Martin Kurtzweg and two sons, Rudolph and Henry, all of this vicinity. Also six brothers. The remains were laid to rest Sunday afternoon in the Lutheran cemetery, Rev. R. Heidmann officiating.
