Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Larry Martin LARRY-CONNIE-MARTIN@worldnet.att.net ********************************* Henry Waltermann 1852-1921 Henry Waltermann Joins Silent Majority This week we are called upon to chronicle the demise of another respected citizen of Henderson, Henry Waltermann, who passed away at his home at about one o'clock on Sunday, July 24, after an illness of some months. The deceased was taken ill several months ago, but recovered sufficiently to enable him to be about again. He was again taken down by a complication of diseases, and finally succumbed to the inevitable. He was a kind and generous husband and father, and was, held in high regard by his neighbors and many other friends. Henry Casper Waltermann was born at Dayton, Ohio, April 16, 1852, and was therefore 59 years, 3 months and 14 days of age at the time of his demise. He came to this state with his parents and settled on a homestead in this township. In 1882 he married Anna Wosnock of this city, and four children were born to them, three of whom are living, namely: Charles, Lillian and Lenora. Besides his wife and children he leaves one brother, John Waltermann of New Rome; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Wigand of this city and Mrs. Ed. Wegge of Perham, Minn. The deceased has resided in this city for years, and was well and favorably known. He was a member of the Henderson fire department for twenty-eight years, and always took an active interest in the organization. He will be missed by a wide circle of friends who join in extending sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, with services at St. Paul's Ev. Church, Rev. Lehmann officiating. The fire department, headed by the local hand, lead the funeral procession, and six firemen acted as pallbearers. The remains were interred in Brown's cemetery. Among the relatives from a distance, in attendance at the funeral, were, John Waltermann, of New Rome; Henry Wigand, of Wood Lake, and Herman Wigand, of Hudson, Wis.
