Deceased was born Aug. 15, 1854, near Dusseldorf, Germany. He came to this country with his parents at the age of 14 and settled on a farm north of town. He was married in 1881 to Marie Kemp. Six children blessed the union, namely: Lizzie, Theodore, Margaret, Frank, Sophi and Peter. His wife preceded him to the grave July 6, 1909. They had resided on his farm west of town for the past 33 years. He was a good neighbor and kind husband and father, and his untimely death is regretted by the entire community. He had been suffering with cancer for a number of years, but was always cheerful and happy, in his Christian faith. He was operated on at the Eital hospital in Minneapolis, Jan. 6th and two weeks later came home. Since that time he has been failing gradually. A sister and brother (Mrs. Peter Mimbach and Henry Weckop) also survive him. The funeral was held Monday A.M. from his late residence to the Catholic church in this village, where services were conducted by Rev. Fr. Rant and the remains were then conveyed to the cemetery of the parish, northwest of town, and interred in the family lot beside his wife. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all our relatives, neighbors and friends, who so willingly assisted us during the last illness, death and burial of our beloved father, the late Frank Weckop.
