Henry Wiemeier Sr., died at the home of his son William, in Dryden township, 3' miles west of Arlington, on the evening of Aug. 23. Deceased was one of Sibley county's oldest settlers. He came to this county, settling in Dryden township in 1858, when this county was nothing but a wilderness, infested by Indians. Deceased leave an aged wife and five children, three daughters and two sons, to mourn his death. Mr. Wiemeier had been confined to his bed since last winter and had been steadily losing strength, until he was unable to move himself without help. Henry Wiemeier was born in Kurhessen, Germany, Feb. 5, 1822 and died Aug. 23, 1895 and was therefore 73 years of age at the time of his death. The funeral was held from the residence of his son William, where he passed away. Rev. Kock, of the German Lutheran church officiated and the remains were laid to rest in the Arlington cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in this part of the county, over 80 teams being in line.
