Declaration For A Widow For Pension
State of Minnesota County of Stearns. On this 22nd day of November, A.D.
eighteen hundred and seventy five personally appeared before me, a pension
notary duly appointed and Notary Public in and for the County and State
aforesaid, Catherine Frederick, aged 83 years, a resident of Sauk Centre
County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, who being duly swown according to
law, declares that she is the widow of Jacob Frederick, who served the full
period of 60 days in the (1) military service of the United States in the
War of 1812, and who was the identical Jacob Frederick who (2) enlisted in
Captain Benjamin Hortens Company, New York Militia ...  that (3) was
stationed on Staten Island, New York and the most of the time in Fredercs
was cook of his company.  that she was married under the name of Stephens to
said Jacob Frederick on the second Wednesday of January, A.D. 1809 by Rev.
John Robinson at Monroe, NY there being no legal barrier to such marriage;
that her husband died at Sauk Centre, Minn, on the 10th day of January 1869
and that she has not remarried ... hereby constitutes and appoints with full
power of substitution and revocation Wood S. Ogden of Middletown, NY her
true and lawful attorney to prosecute her claim and obtain the pension
certificate that may be issued; that her post office is at Sauk Centre,
County of Stearns, State of Minn; that her domicile or place of abode is the
