Beth Orsi OCT 15, 1908 DEATH WAS SUDDEN James M. Rice civil War Veteran dies suddenly at his home Suddenly but gently did death tap at the home of James M Riceearly Wednesday morning summmoning the husband and father to his long rest. Mr. Rice was at the advanced age of 79 years and had not been in the best of health for sometime, but his condition was such as to give no cause for alarm. Early wednesday morning he arose going downstairs, but in a short time returned to bed and appeararently went to sleep. At the usual time Mrs. Rice got up and prepared breakfast after which she called her husband. But on receiving no reply went upstairs to find that he had passed into the beyond, death probably due to heart failure. Mr. Rice leaves besides a wife three sons two whose homes are in montana and three daughters who live in Wisconsin. Geo. M. Rice of this city is also a son of the deceased. No arrangements for the furneral have been made, awaiting arrival of the members of the immediate family.
