Thank you Gary King. Minard Parker Edman Minard Parker Edman, 91, of Owatonna, Minn., former resident of Real Life Cooperative, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at Owatonna Hospital. He was born October 10, 1909 in Pennock, Minn., the son of Herman and Ragnal (Johnson-Fauldet) Edman. Minard graduated from Willmar High School in 1928. He attended St. Cloud State University for two years and received his bachelor of science from the Univ. of Minnesota in 1938. While in college, Minard was a boxer and played baseball. He married Carola M. Sunell, June 17, 1938. He was a teacher and coached the undefeated girls basketball team for Underwood for 4 years before moving to New Richland where he taught for two years. He was principal and teacher at Clarkfield for 15 years, during which time he received his master's degree from the Univ. of Minnesota. While teaching in Clarkfield, Minard was a hail adjuster for Hartford Ins. Co. in the summers. In 1959 he moved to Emmons to be superintendant of schools for five years before going to Taylors Falls where he was superintendant for 10 years until his retirement in 1974. The couple lived in Taylors Falls for over 25 years before Minard moved to Owatonna in 1991 following the death of his wife. Minard enjoyed wintering in Texas and Arizona with his wife after retiring, family camping trips, and fishing trips with his grandchildren. He was a Minnesota Twins fan and a Gopher basketball fan. He is survived by Linda and Dave Roush (Daughter) of Owatonna, Minn.; Marilyn Levitt (Daughter) of Mankato, Minn.; Robert Edman (Son) of Minneapolis; four grandchildren & two great-grandchildren; Lloyd and Marie Edman (Brother) of Eugene, Ore. Warren and Gray Edman (Brother); Florence Rudh (Sister) of New London, Minn.;Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carola;three brothers and two sisters. Visitation was held at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna, Minn., on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 10, 2001 at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna, Minn. The Rev. John Weisenburger of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in the Kahbakong cemetery in Taylors Falls, Minn. The Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna, assisted the family with arrangements.
