The services were held in the Federated church at 4 o'clock, the Rev. George Hartz officiating. Interment was in Summit cemetery. A prayer service was held Sunday evening at the Olson Chapel. Mr. Yarger, who lived most of his life in the Morris community, died at the Stevens County Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 18. He had been in failing health for several years. Deceased had been employed by the Stevens County Highway department for 30 years. He retired from the department in 1960. Ed Yarger was born at Greene, Iowa on April 27, 1892, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Yarger. He attended school in the Greene community. Shortly after the turn of the century the family moved to the Morris area. He was married in Minneapolis to Marie A. Fischer on April 28, 1915. They farmed in the Morris area until 1930, moving then to Morris. He began employment with the county highway department the same year and continued in that work until his retirement two years ago. He is survived by his wife; by two sons, Donald of Morris and Edwin of Faribault; by two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Robert Sorenson) of Minneapolis and Donna (Mrs. Lyle Christianson) of Morris; and by 12 grandchildren. He is survived also by a sister, Mrs. William Crowe, of Olympia, Wash., and by four brothers, George and Harry, both of Olympia, Wash., Claren of California, and William of Alexandria.
