Hart-Yarger was born at Green, Iowa Aug. 6, 1858 and died at their summer home at Werner, N. Dak. Sept. 27, 1917, aged 59 years, 1 month, and 21 days. Their winter home was in Morris, Minnesota. She was married to James A. Yarger July 5, 1874, and made their home at Green until 17 years ago when they moved to Morris, Minn. For many years Mrs. Yarger was a member of the Christian church and on coming to Morris she affiliated with the First Methodist Episcopal Church of that city. She was actively interested in the Ladies Aid Society and in all good movements that meant for the helpfulness of those around her. In her home as well as in her constant associations with the church and outside world, she ever manifested a spirit of Christian consistancy, willing service and tender patience, especially was this shown in these latter days of suffering with a fortitude that was unflinching, a courage that was brave, and a cheerfulness that would not allow itself to be overcome. She expressed her faith in the Father's dealings and her willingness to surrender all things into his hands. No wife or mother ever more fully or more beautifully filled out her station than did our departed sister. In the home she excelled, in her ministries of thoughtfulness and of love. Mrs. Yarger was also an active member of The Elizabeth Reem Circle N. 46, Ladies of the G.A.R. She will be much missed from this little company, her presence always meaning good cheer to those assembled. In spite of all that human skill and human means could do to prolong the life and restore to health, she has been taken from us, leaving behind a memory that is rich in fragrance and gratitude for this beautiful life and character that has been with us for the years past. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. Nobbs, assisted by Rev. F. Richardson Sunday, Sept. 30 at the First Methodist Church and interment being at Summit Cemetary. The husband, one daughter and seven sons, John M., George and Harry who reside at Werner, N. Dak., Will, Starbuck, Minn., Ed and Claren, Morris, Minn. and Perry, San Diego, Cal. All the children were present at the funeral except the latter who was unable to attend. The deceased was gently laid to rest by her six sons who acted as pall bearers. The floral offerings were beautiful and abundant, especially those of the G.A.R., Social Union and Fisk Rubber Co. of Minot, N.D." ========================================================================= Copyright Judy Morgan 2007.
