Carol D. Aho, 72, of Mountain Iron, dies



  Carol D. Aho, 72, of Mountain Iron, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 

her home following a lengthy illness.

  She was born July 14, 1932, in Ely, to Andrew and Tyne (Ojala) Herrala 

and grew up here. She was a graduate of Ely Memorial High School and the 

University of Minnesota-Duluth.

  Carol was an elementary school teacher in Virginia for 14 years. She 

and her husband lived in Virginia for the first part of their marriage 

and had been a Mountain Iron resident since 1968.

  Carol was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Virginia.

  She is survived by her husband, Reino M. Aho of Mountain Iron; one 

son, Brian (Cindy) Aho of Zimmerman; and one daughter, Jan (Tim Ryder) 

Aho of Bloomington, IN; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Alicia Aho; 

two brothers, Calvin and Carl Herrala; and three sisters, Marion (Darrel) 

Gander, Virginia Erickson and Shirley (Richard) Ehrenber.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Herrala; 

and one sister, Mildred Herrala.

  Funeral services were held on Monday, April 25 at the Good Shepherd 

Lutheran Church in Virginia with the Rev. Donald C. Norr as officiate. 

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia.
