Bowen, 81, Indianapolis and summer resident of Ely, dies Donald B. Bowen, 81, Indianapolis and summer resident of Ely, died on April 15, 2005. He was born Dec. 27, 1932 to the late Bruce A. and Lorraine Busick Bowen in Indianapolis. Donald married Helen Jean Melvin November 19, 1946 in Indianapolis, who survives. Other survivors include children Linda (Tom) Foster, Poland, IN, Kathy (Dennis) Black, Greenwood, IN, William “Bill” (Nancy) Bowen, Greenwood, IN and Bruce (Evonda) Bowen, Southport, IN, 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and sister Jean Harvey, Boston, MA. he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Swartz. Donald was employed a total of 30 years as a heating and air conditioning service technician retiring from Hoosier Coal and Oil. He also taught heating and air conditioning service at the former Indiana Central College. He was a member of Southeast Baptist Tabernacle and the Church Golden Prayer Warriors. Donald was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran. Services were held on April 18 in Indianapolis
