She was born on May 7, 1917 to Frank and Julia (Kuran) Kolek in Superior, WI. Julia grew up and attended school in Superior. In September of 1938 she married Joseph Glinsek. She moved to Ely with her husband. Julia was a homemaker, a good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to play Pinochle, Bingo, crochet, knit and make crafts. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, and an active member and volunteer at the Ely Senior Center. She will be missed by her family and friends. Julia is survived by her daughter: Jo-Ann (Joseph) Stefanich of Gilbert; son: Joseph (Mary) Glinsek of Blaine; six grandchildren: Jeff (Dot) Stefanich of Salt Lake City, UT, Steven Stefanich of Savage, MN, Troy Stefanich of Duluth, Bob (Suzie) Glinsek of Lino Lakes, MN, Beth (Darin) Laabs of Princeton, MN, Jamie (Carrie) Glinsek of Elk River, MN; seven great-grandchildren: Tyler, Katie and Nick Stefanich, Taylor, Tommy, Tate Laabs, and Nan Glinsek; sister: Mary Kolek of Superior, WI; special friend Jack Skradski of Ely; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph in 1955; four brothers: Louis, Joe, Frank, and Steve Kolek; and two sisters: Ann Rucka and Helen Post. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 11 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ely. The Reverend Father James Scheuer will officiate. Private burial will be the Ely Cemetery.
