All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Margie Gornick, 99, a lifelong resident of Ely, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Ely-Bloomenson Hospital. She was born Dec. 28, 1904, in Ely to Joseph and Johanna Globakar. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Slovenian Women’s Union, AFU No. 120 and a lifelong member of KSKJ No. 72. She is survived by a son, Louis J. Gornik, and a daughter, Mary Elioff, both of Ely; two sisters, Angela Vesel of Duluth and Mary Labernik of Ely; and three brothers, Victor (Sophie) Palcher, and Frank and Louis Palcher, all of Ely. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Sr.; brothers, Joe, John, Edward, Ludvick and Anton; and a sister, Jennie Golob. Memorial service was held Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely. Inurnment was in Ely Cemetery. Services provided by Kerntz Brothers, a Bauman Family Funeral Home, in Ely.
