FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Ely Echo Submitted: February 2007 ========================================================================= KENNETH WILLIAM LAX, 69, formerly of Ely, dies KENNETH WILLIAM LAX, 69, passed away in Kiln, MS on Jan. 9, 2007. He lived in Superior, WI in the summer and spent winters in warmer New Orleans. Kenneth was born outside of Ely on Sept. 27,1937. He attended Ely High School and worked in Ely a number of years. He always returned to the Iron Range as often as his work allowed him. He was a steward for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for a number of years. He worked as an electrician on industrial projects in all parts of the United States for approximately 40 years. After his retirement, he came back nearly every year to visit his family and friends on the Iron Range where he grew-up and went to school. He said some of the special events were the class reunions, the big get- together of the Tornvill bunch at Semer's Beach in Ely and the Blueberry festival. He is survived by his siblings, Geraldine Tornfelt, Rudolf (Jim) Schuler, Janice Wagner, Marlene Benson, Sham (Hughes) Anderson, his three daughters, Rene', Rena and Jeris and several grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his daughter LaRae and his niece Susan. He will be at rest in the Pike River Cemetery near his grandfather's farm in Embarrass.
