All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Albert Frank Shober, 69, of Maple Grove, Minn., died Friday, May 28, 2004, in Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, Minn. He was a lifelong resident of Ely until he moved to Maple Grove three years ago. He was born in Ely on Oct. 23, 1934, to Frank and Elsie (Harri) Shober. Albert was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had worked at Reserve Mining and LTV Mining Co. as a heavy machine mechanic for almost 30 years. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and listening to polka music. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and target shoot. He had an avid interest in gun collecting. He is survived by the mother of his children, Rose Marie Shober; children, Cynthia Shober, Cathleen (Krist) Shelstad, Albert John (Sherri) Shober, Carrie Shober, and Daniel (Linda) Shober; grandchildren, Sarah Josephine Seelye, Alyssa Marie Shelstad, Abigail Rose Shelstad, Brittany Kay Shober, Brianna Marie Shober, Baillie Nicole Shober, Aaron Albert Shober, Andrew Roy Shober, and Olivia Josephine Shober; brother, Raymond (Mary Ann) Shober; sister, Marlene (Ronald) Skube; aunt, Molly Velcheff; one nephew; several nieces. A memorial Mass was held Saturday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely. The Rev. James Scheuer officiated. Arrangements are by Kerntz Brothers, a Bauman Family Funeral Home in Ely.
