Starkman, 94, of Ely dies Vivian M. Starkman, 94, of Ely went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Ely Bloomenson Nursing Home. Vivian was born to Matt and Katri (Nahkala) Mattila on April 3, 1910. She was a graduate of Ely Memorial High School. On July 9, 1936 she was married to William Starkman. She spent her entire life in the Ely area. Her greatest loves in life were her family and her work at the First Lutheran Church in Ely. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by many Vivian is survived by her daughter; Elizabeth (Ronald) Macmillan of Ely; grandchildren: Patrick (Louise) MacMillan of Ely and Michael (Stacey) MacMillan of Chisholm; great-grandchildren: Blake, Brooke, Brittany and Alexis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: William; brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. Family services for Vivian will be held at a later date.
