She was born on April 29, 1916 in Ely to Jalmer and Emelia Rosdet. Rachel was a graduate of Ely Memorial High School and married Reino Wahlberg in 1938. Rachel worked at the Shipman Hospital, Ely Dairy, Lynn Hardware and the Ely Bloomenson Nursing Home. Rachel had a deep love for gardening, flowers and feeding animals and birds. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Aili Tantarri; her daughter Emily Wahl- berg of Ely; and her sons Jerome Wahlberg of Virginia and Rick (Dana) Wahlberg of Duluth; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a nephew and three nieces and a special niece, Amy Labernik She is also survived by special friends Judy Wahlberg, Beth Hestetune, Tessa and Kosho. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 4 at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Ely, Pastor Bonk officiating. The family requests memorials to Ely Community Resources or First Lutheran Church of Ely in lieu of flowers. Rachel will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
