Ida Loftus vs. John Loftus, Duluth News-Tribune Fri Nov 8, 1895 pg 5 The Three branches of the district court were occupied yesterday in listening to details of connubial infelicity, and before they day had rolled by nine unhappy couples were given legal separation. Ida Loftus, whose husband John Loftus, disappeared suddenly about four years ago, was given her freedom. Mr. Loftus was assistan state weighmaster, and it was believed that the investigation of the weighing system in the elevators here precipitated his departure.
