FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet Submitted: October 2004 ========================================================================= 1969 Honor Ernest Gades' on silver anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gades, of Holloway, were honored by their children at an open house reception on their 25th wedding anniversary at Immanuel Lutheran church, Holloway, Sunday, Aug. 10. The following program was presented with Carl Hoffman, of Appleton, as master of ceremonies. A reading "What Are Parents," was given by Linda Gades. Mr. Hoffman narrated events of the past 25 years of the couple's marriage and Darlene Gades gave a reading, "A Recipe for a Happy Family." After further remarks, Mr. Hoffman closed the program with an anniversary prayer and the table prayer was said in unison. Dining room host and hostess were Mr. Mrs. Raymond Weiss, of Appleton. Guests were registered by Miss Jean Anderson of Easton. Gifts and cards were opened and displayed by Mrs. Norman Birkland, of Easton, and Mrs. Dennis Weiss, of Minneapolis. Punch was served by Mrs. Barry Miller, of Bloomington, and Mrs. Marvin Laaabs, of Hancock. Mrs. Clyde Bahl, of Appleton, and Mrs. Merlin Gades, of Glenwood, cut and served the cake which was decorated in silver and blue. Coffee pourers were Mrs. Carl Hoffman and Mrs. Robert Gades of Hancock. Waitresses were Darbie Anderson, of Easton, Gail Gades, of Glenwood, Mrs. Wallace Engel, of Minneapolis, and Wanda Winkelman, of Holloway. Kitchen honors went to Mrs. Thelma Reynolds, Mrs. Reuben Latzke, Mrs. Carl Koosmann, Mrs. Roland Norby, Mrs. Donald Giese and Mrs. Leroy Baumgartner. Ernest Gades and Donna Mae Anderson were married Aug. 11, 1944, by Rev. E. Meichsner. Attendants were Mrs. Robert Ruplinger (Audrey Hoffman), of Hancock, and Clifford Hoffman, of Wheaton, both of whom were present for the event. Children of the couple are Miss Linda Gades, of Minneapolis, Jerome Gades, of Holloway, Donald Gades of Herman, Darlene, Jeffrey and Lonnie, Holloway. They have one grandson, Anthony Mitchell Gades, of Herman. Out of town relatives and friends attending were from Easton, Byron, Minneapolis, Bloomington, South St. Paul, Marshall, Wheaton, Lakeville, Glenwood, Morris, Donnelly, Herman, Alberta, Madison, Benson, Danvers, Hancock and Appleton.
