FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet Submitted: October 2004 ========================================================================= This is from the Great Falls Tribune and was in 1983 Arthur and Caroline Van Vleet Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Van Vleet, 1917 Montana Ave., were honored on their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house and reception in O'Haire Motor Inn, attended by about 85 guests. Caroline Kohler and Van Vleet were married Jan. 20, 1943, in Holloway, Minn. He farmed and worked for the grain elevator company in Holloway until moving to Great Falls. Van Vleet went to work for Hansen Implement upon their arrival here and has been employed by Fleet Wholesale Supply here since 1961. Mrs. Van Vleet was employed as a housekeeper for eight years, retiring in 1970. Both are active members in Trinity Lutheran Church and he is a volunteer fireman with Vaughn Fire Department. They have two sons, Edgar Van Vleet, Black Eagle, and Ernest W. Van Vleet, Great Falls, as well as four grandchildren. The couple was also honored at a family dinner in the Ernest Van Vleet home the day after the reception. Among family members attending were Mrs. Martin Schmidt, Liza Schmidt and Meta Hamann, all of Ortonville, Minn., Mrs. George Stachowski and Mrs. Ken Kortz, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Wayne Bergstad, Book Park.
