M. Dolan Danvers Pioneer Merchant Dead C.M. Dolan, pioneer, Danvers merchant and a resident of Swift County for sixty years, died at his home in Danvers at 9:30 o'clock Sunday evening, January 24, following an influenza attack/ He had been in poor health the last four years. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Visitacion, Danvers, at 10;00 o'clock Wednesday morning, January 27. Rev. F. M. Fairley will officiate. Burial with be made in the church cemetery. Mr. Dolan moved to Danvers in 1904 after farming in West Bank township for many years and operated a meat market there until a few years ago. He was active in the civic life of the village, serving as mayor and as councilman for several years, and as a member of the school board for the twelve year period from 1920- 1932. Charles M. Dolan was born in Boston Mass. on March 10, 1870, the son of Thomas and Cecelia Dolan and was 66 years, ten months and fourteen days old at the time of his death. His parents brought their family west in 1877 and homesteaded in West Bank township that fall. Charles was married to Miss Mary Claire Gallagher at the Church of the Visitation, Danvers, on November 4, 1896. They lived on the farm in West Bank until moving to Danvers in 1904. Mr. Dolan is survived by his wife and eleven children, six daughters and five sons. Mrs. G. E. (Laura) Quigley, Mrs. D.L. (Clara) Connolly and J. C. (Margaret) Aylmer of Benson, C.T. Dolan of Willmar, E. F. Dolan of DeGraff, Miss Catherine M. Dolan of Olivia, Miss Cecelia M. Dolan of Benson, Miss Rose C., Vincent J. and Richard D. Dolan at home. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas R. and Frank E. Dolan, and one sister, Miss Cecelia A. Dolan of West Bank. Swift County News 1-26-1937
