CECELIA DOLAN: Mrs. Cecelia Dolan of West bank died at her home in that township at 6:15 Tuesday, Dec 3 1912. the deceased had been in failing health for the past three years. The immediate cause of death was diabetes. The funeral was held from the Visitation Church in Danvers, Thursday forenoon where Rev. Father Shey celebrated requiem high mass. Interment was made in thje cemetary belonging to the Visitation Church. The pall bearers were: Frank Drinkwine, John O'neil, Philip Rontry, Joseph Laughlin, Charles Mc Govern, John C. Dolan, J.H. Ferry, and E.J. Ferry. Among those who attended the funeral from outside points were: Mrs. Edith Tate, And Mr and Mrs Lawler, of Wilmar, A.C. Dolan and Mrs John T. Dolan of Minneapolis: Mr and Mrs. G.H. McCarthy, Miss Agnas Loghlin, Frank and Lizzie Fitzgerald, J.H. Ferry, E.J. Ferry , Joseph Laughlin, and Phillip Rountry of DeGraff. Although the weather was inclement a number of neighbors and other friends attended the obesquies. The deceased was one of West Banks first settlers. She came from Swift County with her husband in April , 1877, and resided on the farm in West Bank until the time of her Death. Mrs. Dolan was a woman of exemplary christain character and habits. She was the mother of a large family, some of whom have proceded her to the world beyond. Her husband Thomas Dolan , died in 1888 leaving her to battle with the vicisseitedes of life for herself and her children. How well she performed her duty can be seen better than expressed in words by a visit to her home and the homes of her children. The scripture says " By their family ye shell know them. the deceased was an industrious, plane spoken and economical, homeloving and ( unintellagable) Woman, who believed ( the rest of the paragraph in unintellagable) Mrs. Dolan suffered her share of the crosses of life. Life with her was not all sunshine. In the pioneer days the loss of her husband and her oldest daughter was irreparable, but she bore it with true christain attitued, having faith in Him to whom a sparrow cannot fall withou the knowledge and knowing that he would give her strength to bear her cross for the sake of her dependent little children and she performed her task as only those can who are endowed with true Christain spirit. Mrs. Dolan was born in County Caven Ireland in 1844. Her parents were Micheal and Bridget Dolan, both of whom were born in County Caven and lived there until their deaths. the Deceased came to America in 1861 and resided with the family of Nathaniel Hawthorn, the noted author at Concord Mass for about 2 years, then she moved to Boston and Shortly after she Married Thomas Dolan in 1863. She lived with her husband in Boston. Then April of 1877 when the family came to Swift County and resided here until the time of her death. The late John T Dolan, who was a Swift county resident up to a few years prior to his death at his home in Minneapolis last April was her oldest son. Four sons and one daughter are left to morn her loss. Charles M. Dolan of Danvers: Terrance P. Dolan of Six mile Grove, Frank, Thomas, and Cecelia Dolan, of West Bank. She also leaves four sisters and one brother: Mrs Philip Golden of West Bank: Mrs John McDonald of Benson; Mrs Mark McGovern of Oakland Ca; Mrs Patrick McGovern of County Caven Ireland: and Patrick Dolan , County Caven Ireland. A large Circle of Friends extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
