Dolan Resident of Danvers Community 64 Years Last rites were held in Danvers, Friday morning December 12, 1941 for Thomas R. Dolan, one Swift county's best known citizens and a resident of the Danvers community Since 1877. The West Bank pioneer played active part in the commercial and social development of his community. He served as chairman of the school board of District 98 for many years, He was a member of the Danvers Rural Telephone Co. board of directors and belonged to the Holy Name Society. Mr. Dolan died at the Montevideo Hospital Tuesday morning, December 9, following ten days treatment for heart disease. He had been in ailing health for some time. Funeral services were held at the Church of The Visitation, where solemn requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Henry McCall, assisted by Rev. Fr. W.O. Wash of Murdock and Rev. Fr. William P. Delaney of Montevideo. Burial was made In The church cemetery. The acting pallbearers were Robert, Thomas, Frank, Cecil and Richard Dolan and Lawrence Carney. The honorary pall bears were Victor Bonnie, John Ernst, Henry Ernst, Frank O'Leary, Mike Hughes and Martin Connally. Mr. Dolan was born in Boston. Mass , on February 21, 1874, and was the last surviving son of the late Thomas and Cecelia (Dolan) Dolan. He was three years old when his parents moved to Swift county and settled here in 1877. He spent his entire life here with the exception of two years when his family lived in Minneapolis. Thomas was married to Miss Mary Vandeberg at the Church of the Visitation in Danvers on November 9. 1894. Mr. Dolan is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs Clearence Carruth, and grandson John and one sister, Cecelia A. Dolan. He also had one son, John who proceeded him in Death in the year 1933. Among those from a distance who attended the Funeral were Mrs. J.C. Dolan. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Vandeberg and daughters, Mary Katherine and Geraldine. Mrs. John Ferry, Ann, Virginia, and Betty Jean Dolan, Mr. and Mrs. Kuhn and daughter, Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard O'Rouke, all from Minneapolis: Mrs. Frank Kaufman (sister of Mrs. Dolan), of Drake, N. D; Mrs. Henry Schorder of Epping, N. D. a sister; Teddy Vandeberg of Temple, N.D. Brother of Mrs. Dolan Mrs. David Johnston and Mable of Litchfield; Tom Ferry, Ed Carney and Dan Burns of Willmar; Mrs. WM. Kane and son, Allen, and daughter, Loretta of Murdock; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tisdahl, Miss Beatrice O'Halloran and Moran O'Halloran of Olivia.
