FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet ========================================================================= Johanna WEISS HABEN Oct. 28, 1872 to May 16, 1962 Rites held May 19 for Mrs. Haben, 89 Funeral services for Mrs. Johanna Haben, 89, were held at Trinity Lutheran church, Fairfield, on Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Leidholdt officiating. Family devotions before the service were led by Red. Daniel J. Hougum. Mrs. Haben passed away at Appleton Municipal hospital on Wednesday. May 16, at 8:20 p.m. Pallbearers were Waldemar Stabenow, Dale Stabenow, Bernard Westhausen, Eldon Westhausen, Eldred Wolf and Vernon Haben. Interment took place on the family lot in the Fairfield cemetery. Johanna Weiss was born Oct. 28, 182, at Pine Island, the daughter of Johanna and Philip Weiss. At the age of five she and her parents moved to Fairfield. She was united in marriage to George Haben on June 10, 1891. They made their home on a farm near the Fairfield church until 1943 when they moved to Appleton. She lived in town until 1959 when she made her home with her daughter, Rose Westhausen. Mrs. Haben was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Fairfield. Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Charlotte Wolf, Watseka, Ill., Mrs. Gertrude Westhausen, Mrs. Rose Westhausen, Mrs. Leona Stabenow, Robert Haben, and Alvin Haben, all of Appleton, Alfred Haben, of Danvers and William Haben of Holloway; one brother, Fred, of Modesto, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Atellia Fox and Mrs. Martha Hoppe, of Denhoff, N. D., 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Haben was preceded in death by her husband in 1944 and four children, Henry, Hedwig, Mollie and John.
