Pastor George Sagissor officiated at the services at Trinity Lutheran Church. Eileen Schwarz was the organist and accompanied the congregation in the singing of the hymns. Honorary bearers were Robert Knight, Darrell Kohl, Reynold Lyng, Norman Nelson, Greg Rindth, Lloyd Schlueter, James Warren and Joey Willut. Also serving as honorary bearers were Hilda's grandchildren and her friends. Casketbearers were Lanny Beyer, Jim Colby, Dale Keller, Jr., William Gene Keller, Randy Risch, and Todd Staton. Interment was at the Appleton City Cemetery. Hilda Agnes Martha Keller was born on April 21, 1908, at Horton Township, Stevens County. Her parents were William and Beata (Schulz) Hoppe. She was baptized on May 24, 1908, and confirmed on June 4, 1922, at Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township. Hilda attended rural school in Horton Township. On November 17, 1927, she was married to William F. Keller at Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township. In 1961 William and Hilda moved into Appleton where Hilda worked for several years at the Southside Cafe. After this Hilda worked as a homemaker. In 1977 she and William celebrated their Golden Anniversary. In 2000 Hilda became a resident of the Appleton Municipal Nursing Home. She enjoyed caring for the yard and her garden and baking, especially chocolate chip cookies. She also liked quilting, embroidery, music, and reading her Bible. Hilda's evening prayers were always said in German. Hilda died on Friday morning, May 2, 2003, at the Appleton Municipal Hospital. She had reached the age of 95 years and 11 days. She is survived by her daughter, Vera Beyer, of Hancock; two sons: Dale (and Wanita) Keller of Appleton, and William (and Judy) Keller, Jr., of Crescent Springs, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Preceding Hilda in death are her parents; her husband William, on June 10, 1987; her daughter, Diane Keller, her granddaughter, Lisa Keller; two sisters, Bertha Busack and Melinda Snelling; and five brothers; Herb, Emil, Adolph, Helmer, and William Hoppe, Jr.
