FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet September 2004 ========================================================================= The original spelling of Kohler was Köhler. So, sometimes it's spelled Kohler and sometimes it Koehler. My mother-in-law spelled it Kohler. I have used the Kohler/Koehler - whatever was in the original obit. ______________________________________________ I'm not sure which paper the following was in. There are several errors in this but this is exactly as it was printed: Ernest Frederick KOEHLER April 5, 1839 to May 2, 1926 Frederick Kohler, of Moyer Passes Frederick Kohler passed away at the home of his son, F. H. Kohler, in Moyer Sunday at the age of 87 years. Cause of death was cancer of the stomach and he had been confined to his bed for four months. Frederick Kohler was born April 5, 1837, at Falkenwalda, Germany. He came to Canada when a young man, and then to Green Lake county, Wis. He was united in marriage to Augusta Ferch and they came in a covered wagon drawn by a team of oxen to Swift county 53 years ago and took a homestead in Moyer township. He is survived by two sons, F. H. and F. M. Kohler, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, all of Moyer. His wife passed away four years ago. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock from the home of his son and later from the Lutheran church in Holloway and Fairfield Lutheran church. Rev. H. C. Jaus conducted the services. Interment was made in the Fairfield cemetery. The pall bearers were Herbert Kohler, Edwin Kohler, William Hamman, Ervin Zick, Herman Schultz and Herbert Weiss. _________________________________________________________________________
