So, sometimes it's spelled Kohler and sometimes it Koehler. My mother-in-law spelled it Kohler. I have used the Kohler/Koehler - whatever was in the original obit. ______________________________________________ Article is as it appeared - spelling mistakes and all Edwin Robert KOHLER March 2, 1901 to October 10, 1980 Edwin R. Kohler Funeral services for Edwin R. Kohler, a resident of the Good Smaritan Center of Clinton, and formerly of the Holloway area, were held on Monday, Oct. 13, at Immanuel Lutheran church in Holloway. Rev. Roger Schlechte officiated at the 2 p.m. service. Mr. Kohler died Oct. 10 at Fargo, N.D. Mrs. Leo Boese served as organist. Pallbearers were Merlin Arndt, Marvin Arndt, Martin Arndt, Arthur Hamann, Lorance Hamann and Martin Schmidt. Interment took place at the Holloway Lutheran cemetery. The Holman-Vaala Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Edwin Robert August Kohler was born in Moyer township March 2, 1901 to parents Frank and Anna Ehlert Kohler. He grew up and spent most of his life in the Holloway area. He farmed for most of his life on the family farm north of Holloway. On June 10, 1976, he entered the Good Samaritan Center in Clinton. On July 22, 1979, he was united in marriage to Mary Arndt at the Good Samaritan Center. They brought much joy and happiness to each other and their families during their short time of wedded life. Survivors are his wife, Mary, of Clinton; a sister, Meta Hamann, of Ortonville; nine step-children, and numerous step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
