The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Mrs. Margaret McDonald Mrs. Margaret McDonald died at St. Barnabas hospital at Minneapolis on Thursday forenoon, April 16,1914 at 10:30, immediate cause of death being heart failure. She had been ill about a month with pleurisy. She had gone down to Minneapolis the Saturday previous to consult Dr. Dunsmore, who advised an operation. The operation was a minor one, but the shock was too much and she passed away while on the operating table. The deceased who was 65 years of age, was born in Caven County Ireland and came to this country in 1867, Locating in the city of Boston. She was married in that city to John McDonald on July 4, 1871. In 1879 they came to this country and took a homestead in the town of West Bank. She had been a resident of this city since 1886. Her husband died in 1901. She was a hard working woman and had many excellent traits of character. She is survived by four sons, D.E., Mike, Joe, and Frank, three daughters, Mrs. J.P. Murphy and Mrs. Oliver Ekberg, of Minneapolis, and Miss Margaret of the city, and three sisters, Mrs. P. Golden of Danvers, Mrs. Anne McGovern, of Ireland and Mrs. P McGovern of California. The remains were brought here Friday afternoon and the funeral services were held from the Catholic Church Saturday forenoon at nine o'clock. Rev. Fr. P.M. Shea officiating. The interment took place in the Catholic Cemetery east of town. The Pall bearers were timothy Cain, J.G. Collins, P.S. Gallagher, John Ferry, F. McCauley, and M. McGuire.
