McGee a resident of six Mile Grove for more than 50 years died at Swift County Hospital on Sunday, September 22. After only a few days illness with pneumonia. On the Tuesday previous to his death he was severely bitten on the arm by horse on his farm and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Pneumonia set in about the same time and the death was attributed to the disease. The Deceased came to Six Mile Grove with his parents in 1877 and in recent years has occupied a farm adjoining the original farm which his parents homesteaded at that time. He has been interested in farming on an extensive scale, and has been one of the outstanding successful sheep raisers of the county. Mr. McGee was born in Oct. 22, 1874 being 55 years old, He was married to Miss Josie Matthiesen, June 5, 1901. Mr. McGee belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Those who survive are his wife, Mrs. J. F. McGee, Six sons and four daughters. Two brothers, Theodore and James Mcgee. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Visitation at Danvers at Nine o'clock Wednesday morning September 25, Rev. J.L. O'Niell Pastor officiated. Swift County Monitor, Sept 27, 1929
