FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet ========================================================================= Johanna Auguste Elizabet KNOPFF RISCH Nov. 6, 1883 to Feb. 2, 1971 Mrs. Johanna Risch was 87 at death Funeral services for Mrs. Johanna Risch, 87, of Benson, former Moyer and Fairfield township resident, were held Friday, Feb 5 at St. Mark's Lutheran church with Rev. James Meichsner officiating. Mrs. Risch died Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Swift County-Benson hospital after an illness of one year. Pallbearers were Wayne Bergstad, Ken Kortz, John Risch Jr., Herman Schwendeman, George Stachowski and Bruce Trouten. Interment took place in Fairfield cemetery. Johanna Auguste Elizabeth Knopff was born at Fairfield township, Swift county, on Nov. 6, 1883, the daughter of the late Bruno and Eliza Pedrick Knopff. She was united in marriage to William Risch on October 27, 1903. The farmed for about three years in Washington county, then for about four years in Moyer township before purchasing a farm in Fairfield township where they lived about 33 years before moving to Benson. She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran church, Fairfield township. Survivors are daughters: Mrs. Hubert (Amanda) Kohler, of Minneapolis; Clara, of Benson; Mrs. Leo (Helen) Knese, of St. Cloud; one son, John of Holloway, six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, sister, Mrs. August (Erma) Holzheimer, of Yakima, Wash; brothers, Herman Knopff, of Benson, Max and Walter Knopff, of Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Risch was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Mrs. August (Mabel) Schmidt; sisters, Mrs. Carl (Clara) Lemke, Mrs. Horatio (Eliza) Jenkins, Martha and Emelie Knopff who died in infancy and a brother, William Knopff.
