Reverend Robert Jarvis officiated. Mary Perkins served as the organist and Ruth Thielke and James Gades served as soloists. Palbearers for the service were all of Florence's grandchildren: Neil Thielke, Mark Thielke, Anne Fehr, Beth Savela, Jonathan Thielke, Nancy Thielke, Steven Thielke, Susan Kaiser, Jeanette Meggers, James Gades, David Gades, David Thielke, Christi Thielke, Dana Thielke, Matthew Thielke, Lee Van Aalsburg, Ward Van Aalsburg and Jared Van Aalsburg. Florence Marie (Weiss) Thielke was born February 4, 1909, to Johann and Marie (Hoppe) Weiss in rural Fairfield Township, Swift County, Minnesota. She was baptized February 28, 1909, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield Township by Reverend H. J. Raedeke. She was confirmed April 9, 1922, by Rev. Raedeke. Florence attended parochial school and also rural school at District #36 and Appleton High School. In the fall of 1924, the family moved to Horton Township in Stevens County. She was untied in marriage to Melvin H. Thielke June 6, 1929, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield Township. They continued to live in Horton Township on the groom's farm until 1978 when they moved into Hancock. In July of 1991, they moved to an apartment at West Central Homes in Morris. Their marriage was blessed with three sons and two daughters. Florence died Thursday, December 14, 2000, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 91 years. She is survived by three sons: Lloyd (and Marion) Thielke of Morris, James (and Lynne) Thielke of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Melvin Jr. (and Marilyn) Thielke of Enid, Oklahoma; two daughters, Phyllis Gades of rural Holloway and Karen (and Richard) Van Aalsburg or Willmar; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gertrude Bohlmann of Danforth, Illinois, and Mable Osborne of Enid, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin, August 127, 1996; son in law, Norlan Gades, two brothers: Herbert and Clarence Weiss; and two great-grandchildren.
