So, sometimes it's spelled Kohler and sometimes it Koehler. My mother-in-law spelled it Kohler. I have used the Kohler/Koehler - whatever was in the original obit. ______________________________________________ This is from the Great Falls Tribune, Great Falls, Montana. Caroline Anne KOHLER VAN VLEET May 9, 1908 to October 18, 1996 Caroline Anne Van Vleet Caroline Anne Van Vleet, 88, a homemaker, of 1917 Montana Ave., Black Eagle, died Friday in a local nursing home of natural causes. Her funeral is noon Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Cremation will follow the service. Croxford & Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Peace Hospice. She was born May 9, 1908 in Holloway, Minn., and received her education there. On Jan. 21, 1943, she married Arthur E. Van Vleet at Holloway. They moved to Montana in 1956. Van Vleet enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. She is survived by sons, Edgar Van Vleet of Black Eagle and Ernest Van Vleet of Great Falls, and four grandchildren. Her husband has died. Submitter's note: My Mother-in-Law, Caroline Anne Kohler Van Vleet. She was born in Swift County in 1908 - daughter of Herman Freidrick & Auguste Wrege Kohler. She lived in Swift County until her husband got is some kind of a fight over closing the Holloway school and they left for Montana in 1956. She went back every year to visit as long as her health would allow it. The articles I have sent are from her scrapbook.
