FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet ========================================================================= Mina SUCKOW VOLLMER April 12, 1876 to August 19, 1961 Mrs. Mina Vollmer rites held Aug. 22 Funeral services for Mrs. Mina Vollmer, 85 a lifetime resident of Swift county were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, at St. John's Lutheran church, Moyer township, with Rev. Wm. Uhrich officiating. Mrs. Vollmer passed away at 12:45 p. m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Doege Nursing home. Pallbearers were Reuben Suckow, Walter Suckow, Reinhard Koosman, Robert Haak, Marvin Matthies and Hubert Kohler. Interment took place in St. John's Lutheran church cemetery, Moyer township. Mina Suckow was born in Swift county on April 12, 1876, the daughter of Carl Suckow and Wilhelmina Stolt Suckow. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran church in Fairfield on June 18, 1876, and was a member of the first class to be confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church on March 31, 1900. She was united in marriage to Friedrich J. Vollmer on May 2, 1898, at St. John's Lutheran church by Rev. R. A. Schmidt. They lived on a farm east of Holloway for several years and moved to the village of Holloway in 1942. Mr. Vollmer passed away on April 16, 1944, and she remained at Holloway until 1949 when she made her home with her son, Mrs. and Mrs. Rudolph Vollmer. She was confined to a wheel chair for the past four years and the last two years she was a resident at the Doege Nursing home. Surviving are two sons, Rudolph and Fred, both of Holloway; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Olson (Hulda), of Milltown, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren; three brothers, Fred Suckow of Yakima, Wash, Emil Suckow, of Holloway, Carl Suckow, of Holloway; and one sister, Mrs. Fred J. Beyer (Martha) of Morris. Mrs. Vollmer was preceded in death by two daughters, Ida in infancy, and Mrs. Paul Giese (Martha), on Oct. 17, 1951.
