FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy VanVleet ========================================================================= Lydia MOHR WEISS November 16, 1905 to 1982 Lydia Weiss Mrs. Lydia Weiss, 77, a resident of Benson since 1954, and formerly of Horton Township in Stevens County, died Thursday afternoon in Dallas, Texas. Surviving are four sons, Wallace of Benson, Alan of Del Rio, Tx., and Donald and Gerald, both of Dallas; seven grandchildren; two brothers, William Mohr of Raymond, S. D. and Carl Mohr of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters, Irene (Mrs. Paul) Mesenbrink of St. Louis Park and Alice (Mrs. William) Hoppe of Chokio. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Benson. Rev Loren Kruse will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Horton Township, Stevens County. Visitation will be 8-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peterson-Jacobson Funeral Home in Benson and at the church one hour prior to the service. Born Nov. 16, 1905 in Horton Township, the daughter of Henry and Elisa Mohr, she grew up in Stevens County and attended school there also. Baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Horton Township she was married there June 16, 1927 to Herbert Weiss. They farmed in Horton Township until her husbands death July 18, 1954, at which time she moved to Benson. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter in infancy; two sisters, Mrs. Adolph (Ida) Melchert and Clara Mohr; and two brothers, Albert and Walter Mohr. The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers.
